First class of the quarter!

It was a good break — two weeks — but it was too long.  It felt good to get on the mat again.

Warm-ups

Technique: Judo. Unfortunately I don’t know the name of the throw — I really gotta learn the names of some Judo throws, but the Japanese names sound so strange at first.  Anyway, we did one where you step between uke’s legs, wrap your leg inside around one of uke’s legs, and push towards that leg, falling with uke.

Roll: king of the mountain type  ~20 minutes

The class was packed! New quarter, so a lot of new students.  I don’t think it will last.  In any case, some of the class was review, and we filled the mat during rolling.  I felt good, and did well in my rolls.  

I had so much energy after class, I wanted to keep going!  I think my conditioning is improving, but I’m also really noticing when I get too excited in a roll, and I’m able to calm myself down.

Hopefully we’ll do more judo soon.
