At the European Festival Of Martial Arts, Samuel Monin not only got the fastest submission I have ever caught on tape, but he also scored the most points i have ever seen in a BJJ match (before he finally gets a submission). For your reference, the previous highest score I had ever seen in a BJJ match was 33-0 in a purple belt match between Jacob Mclintock (a really excellent grappler) and an older gentleman named Nicolai Holt at Grapplers Quest, but that match did not end in submission so did not make it onto this channel. (I apologize for the crude story being narrated, and I will change the audio if a few people leave comments saying they find it offensive - please do not let it detract from the excellent BJJ) . 20 02 2010

I'm a white belt.
A 32 year old PhD student. My wife and I just started training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in January, 2010, because she thought it would be a good "couples activity".
That means I'm generally a nerd, and as far as BJJ goes, I'm a total beginner!
If training doesn't kill me, I thought I'd like to have this journal to track my experience...
