Last night’s class was brutal.

Warm-ups

Technique warm-up: any sweep from guard; partner regain guard from mount.

Technique: Chokes (forearm across throat, rear naked choke, and gi choke)

Roll: king of the mountain type 3 vs. 1 (20 min); also 2 x 5 min

Rolling was fun enough.

However, The guy that I was working out with was cranking his forearm into my throat during chokes — not cool at all.

Now, even the morning after, I feel like I have a sore throat.  It hurts to swallow, eat, etc.  I hope this goes away!

Funny thing is, the guy that was choking me is like 120 lbs. and also a white belt.  But at least once, I tapped and he did not stop.  No big deal, so I did not try to overreact in class.  I chose not to roll with him, for fear that I would try to get revenge (I weigh about 180).

But, as with most things so far, it doesn’t really hurt until I get home. Now I’m a little worried.  Is this pain normal?

In any case, I’ll survive - just feels good to complain I guess.  And I’m never working out with that guy again.  Have to say, he’s the first jerk I’ve met in my jiu-jitsu experience.

Everyone else has been awesome.

Going to watch a tournament on saturday… that should be fun!
